I am Simone. I am bouncy and bubbly, I talk a lot with my hands, in fact, I talk a lot in general. I have become almost irritatingly optimistic, but have climbed enough hills to have very deep compassion for others. I love babies and animals and truly horrible pop music. I have 3 beautiful children, and an amazing husband, 2 cats, 2 dogs and more often than not we will have a foster dog/puppy hanging out with us. Like most newborn and family photographers my passion for photography started when I became a mother and was taking photos of my own little ones. When my oldest was almost 2 I decided that I wanted to learn more so I completed my Diploma of Professional Photography which was a wonderful benchmark to learn about my camera, how to use light and colour and how to work in photoshop. About me, the photographer, I am very lucky to have landed into this industry, but if you look back it began with my dad (he is a portrait artist and has been in the Archibald many times), and his need for photos of people for him to draw.
I used to walk the streets of Melbourne photographing people. Then after an unsuccessful attempt to get into my PhD, I decided to do a course in Photography “for something to do”.
Within the first month, I had my first client Red Symons (celebrity) who was amazed at the photographs I produced of him and simply kept asking me to photograph him when he needed it, which in turn meant I started quite busy!
My love and passion for Maternity and Newborn photography began when I was a teenager collecting Anne Geddes cards because I simply adored the colour and smiles those photos gave me. I now get a lot of people saying that my work reminds them of hers, and that is the biggest compliment in the world.
I love colour, I love the glow women exude when being pregnant, and most of all, I love creating.

Hi, I am Sarah-Jane, SJ for short and never Sarah! I am a Wife, Mumma, Groodle lover, Photographer, Designer and Art Teacher. I was born on a farm just out of Ganmain, NSW (you may need to google that one) and now reside in Bendigo, Victoria.
When I’m not photographing or designing you can find me enjoying the outdoors with my family, visiting cafes, travelling, cooking, trying to garden and supervising our house renovations.
Photography was a passion from a young age shooting on a Kodak analogue camera and eagerly waiting for it to be developed. Halfway through Year Eleven, I changed High Schools as my Photography class clashed with Modern History and I wanted to do both. I went on to study a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and Design at University in Wagga. It was in my second year that I was approached by one of my lectures to Photograph a Wedding. I was a nervous wreck, however, here I am 11 years later still doing it!
I started doing small Design jobs for friends. When my sister approached me to design her Wedding Stationery, I fell in love with all things Weddings, adding this component to my business. It started with invitations and now includes on the day signage, stubby holders and so much more.
From here I decided to go back and study. I wanted to specialise in Visual Arts and teach my passion for The Arts to the younger generation. I live in Bendigo with my husband and 3 young boys who definitely keep me on my toes and who have no better experience in acting quickly! I hate to think of how many photographs I have of them all.
I adore photography and always have since I was first exposed to the subject at school. I love having a foundation in SLR and darkroom photography where you didn't have software to correct poor settings or framing.
I continued studying with a bit of design along the way but it was always photography that I loved and focused on.
I love the immediacy of photography and how it can capture so much emotion from one single image.
I love people and I am passionate about storytelling. I strive to capture in the most natural and non-intrusive way. The spark at that very moment in time.

I have always had a continual need to express myself creatively which I find calm and joy in both art and photography. I'm a bit like a tree blooming with its many branches, as a good friend says. Always dappling in something with my hands and heart.
Between my partner and myself, we have a blended tribe of six kids.
His + Hers + Ours. It's a circus that we wouldn't change for the world. I certainly feel motherhood has both made and shaped who I am today and my boys especially, are the muse to my magic.
We have 15 chickens we've not long ago hatched ourselves and an array of native birds we've claimed as our unofficial resident pets such as Gang-gangs and Kookaburras.
A year ago we bought our own farm, nestled amongst the Macedon Ranges and feel so blessed to have a country lifestyle. We strive to spend our days living our best life under the stars by the fire, creating, making and laughing.
I have been a photographer for 4 and a half years and an artist for my whole life (thanks for always encouraging me Dad).
I am fairly easy-going and don't stress the small stuff. I am passionate about women's health and empowering women through positive body image and self-love. Which I truly believe is
expressed through my boudoir work and desire to show every woman how incredible she is as herself.
I enjoy a good dad joke and promise to never make you say 'cheese'. I will however give gentle guidance for those who don't love being in front of a camera to ensure you have the best experience and take with it from your session lasting beautiful memories.
