I have always loved photography but it wasn't until my daughter was born that I acquired my very first DSLR. I enrolled and completed a couple of TAFE courses and then just recently completed a Diploma of Photography with Laureate International University. These courses were awesome and gave me the technical skills and inspiration I needed to do what I love. Melissa was amazing from start to finish. She gave us advise prior to the session and got us to send through photos of styles we liked.
When we arrived it was very much “relax” I have it from here. Walking into the studio I could see she had formed different props based on the photos we sent through, they were amazing !
I was impressed with her studio set up, so many beautiful props, blankets etc. Melissa also had an assistant on the day who was also fantastic !
They both were able to calm my baby and get him into different positions and they made us feel very much at ease.

We just had our newborn shoot done. We shot from 4-6pm and had the sample images sent to us by 8.30pm, ready to pick the ones we wanted. Exceptionally good and professional service on the business side. Website is so easy to use and the responsiveness is superb.
On the photos, she was so gentle and protective of our little boy in the shoot. An absolute natural with babies which made the shoot go so smoothly. The pictures came out amazing and she was really accommodating in taking pictures in the style that we wanted.

Hello, my name is Shelby and I’m a proud Mum to my two beautiful sons Harvey and Hugo and wife to my amazingly supportive husband Steven.
I always knew I wanted to work with children and babies. Being one of 11 siblings in my family I always felt like I had a special connection to newborns and families. After studying Fashion design at Tafe in 2010 and later returning back to Australia from travelling I found photography was my calling when my best friend had her daughter. I fell in love with capturing those special moments that we all know fly by so fast. Now that I’m a Mum myself, Harvey and Hugo remind me everyday how important photography is. Fun fact - Until I was 21 years old, I had seen the ocean twice in my entire life. Now I live by the Indian Ocean in the beautiful city of Perth.
So, I guess you’d call me a ‘City Slicker’ these days, but it must be true that, ‘You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl…’ because people often say they can tell that… I’m ‘from the bush’.
I definitely take it as a compliment and I like to think its because I’m super-friendly and love to talk. Something I inherited from my Dad. To him, a stranger really was just a friend he hadn’t met yet.
I grew up in a big, old weatherboard farmhouse in the Riverina region of NSW… and my childhood was full! Full of fun, full of chaos, full of love and - as one of eight kids - it was definitely full of noise!
I have five sisters and two brothers and my best memories are hanging out from dawn until dusk, catching yabbies from the dam, riding quad bikes in the rain, floating down the river, and helping Dad on the farm.
Those were the days! I just wish I could remember more. Apart from family weddings, there are no professional family photographs of all eight of us hanging out with Mum and Dad. Like a lot of families from that era, there are really just a handful of ‘snaps’ from our childhood that have weathered the years. And it really makes me sad.
Fast forward a few years… I traded in the farm-life and drove across the Nullarbor in search of a new adventure! Right now I am in the thick of this adventure - raising a tribe of boys with my husband - Jack.
As you can imagine, there’s never a dull (or quiet) moment! On any given day you might find us hanging out at Mullaloo Beach, exploring Yellagonga, swinging through the trees in Yanchep, getting muddy at the Gwelup Secret Garden, kicking the footy in the local park or tearing around on our BMX’s. Sometimes, we are lucky enough to be just kicking back on the couch watching Bluey!

Hi I’m Kerry,
I’ve spent many years perfecting my art in newborn photography, not just all the technical details, but simply studying babies. Let’s face it, you’re not going to get lots of beautiful images of your baby if I as your newborn baby photographer doesn’t know how to read their behaviour in turn, be able to comfort and settle your baby to sleep! I’ve completed my certification as a qualified newborn photographer, which means I’m trained in a high level of newborn safety as well as being fully vaccinated including whooping cough. That’s the least your precious baby deserves.
I believe it’s so important to capture babies at the newborn stage, they change so very quickly and you soon forget how tiny they once were. But with beautiful photos, you don’t have to say goodbye to those amazing details your eyes once saw, those details that you stare at endlessly now but are gone in the blink of an eye. Let’s hold onto those memories, frame them and proudly display them in our homes, and with each future glance, we are taken straight back to the very beginning. That to me, as a parent, is priceless!

I could write about how I am Perth’s Best Newborn Photographer, Perth’s Best Children’s Photographer, or Perth’s Best Maternity Photographer or how I am a Joondalup Photographer, which is all really great for my SEO but it really holds me back in how I like to write.
So I thought I would get all those terms out of the way, and then you can truly get to know me, what sets me apart from other photographers and why you should have me capture yours and your children’s images.
I am an honest and caring person who has chosen photography as a 2nd career, who seems to be able to act a bit silly around kids. I love family, and nearly always have family near. With the love for my children & family, comes the love of photographs & video. I could truly spend my day getting caught up looking through our old albums and recordings from when our kids were little. As a child, movie nights often took place where Dad would get out the old slide projector and we would love seeing ourselves up on the big big white pull up screen.
I am also a wife and a Mum to three daughters, who are now all really adults (my youngest is just about turning 18). I have always loved children and dreamt the day I would have my own. When they were little, I loved to get them involved in craft, messy play and dress ups. I was our local playgroup’s team leader and purchasing officer (yes our playgroup even had fancy titles lol), so I had a great time creating play for the kids and were able to be the one buying all the dress ups and play equipment.
I loved setting up play areas for my own kids to play in. We had a great cubby house, and created a wonderful fairy garden. We often would make houses out of cardboard boxes to play in.
Within photography, I want to be able to create these wonderful ‘magic & wonder’ scenarios, allow the children to dress up, and see the sparkle in their eyes as they become a fairy, a pirate, or a princess in her pretty dress. I am quite happy to drag a dinghy upon a dry lake, a clawfoot bath into a paddock and fill it with a mermaid and pretend bubbles, all to create a magical experience for your child. To enable them to dress in boutique dresses, or a styled costume, and become someone in their imaginations.
I want to create these whimsical moments so you will look back at memories of you child and remember them as cute as they were; I can tell you from my perspective their childhood days fly by and before you know it they are all grown.
I would love to be the one to follow your baby from fresh newborn images, to their milestone photos and then onto their childhood photos.
