Hi, my name is Marianne and I am originally from Norway. Now Brisbane based photographer, specialising in the art of newborn, baby and maternity images. Before taking up photography as a full-time career in 2014, I worked full time in the hospitality industry as a chef. I have run and operated a fine dining restaurant with my husband in far north Queensland and I am the proud mum of three girls. I got my hands on my first camera back in 1986 when I was lucky enough to have photography classes in high school. I discovered my love of working with newborns and babies back in 2014 when I asked to photograph a good friend of mine's new baby girl. From this photo-session onwards I was in love with the newborn photography industry and I knew instantly this was what I was meant to do, capture the beauty of these perfect little newborns. I can’t think of a better way to spend my days.

Hi there, let me introduce myself. My name is Angie and my passion in life is Photography. I also really love to travel the world to see the sights, especially through my lens. I am a Multi Award-Winning Professional Photographer, which was a goal I set for myself from the start and achieved so very proud. I love to socialise with my friends and family on my days off. I am a single mum to 2 beautiful daughters Caitlyn 17 and Isabella 14. My family means the world to me!

I have experienced Natural Birth twice, even though the first one was very traumatic and never thought I would return, but I did. I wish I had the opportunity to have a birth photographer there to capture my births and the emotions that go along with it. Something I can never get back now.  I understand firsthand the emotions that go along with the labour through to the birth euphoria when your bundle is placed into your arms. This has shown me how important life is and having the most important moments captured as they happen. I was blessed to be there at my youngest brother's birth at the age of 14. I feel this may have been the start of my love for the miracle of birth and all that goes with it.

I have always been obsessed with having a camera on me everywhere we went, right from a young child so I could take photos of everything. Then I had children and that obsession became a reality to me. I couldn’t get enough of it. I wanted to learn so much so fast so I could take the best photos of my children.

That was a turning point for me, I wanted to take it further than just a hobby but the timing was wrong so I persisted with my learning, practising for another 6 1/2years at least before taking the plunge to take it on as a full-time business. Best decision I ever made! I focused on Portraiture, Maternity, Newborns and Family to begin with.

The end of 2012 I set myself a goal that I wanted to extend my offerings to do the birth sessions also so I could follow through the entire journey with my clients. From that moment on I decided to specialise in Maternity, Birth and Newborn and I must say that I LOVE IT! I am extremely passionate about being able to tell the story through labour, birth and afterwards through photos, some video footage, along with creating a beautiful album to tell that story for my clients so they will treasure it forever. Being able to sit down in years to come and show your children how loved they were from the minute they took their first breath with a gorgeous album will be PRICELESS MEMORIES to last forever.

I also felt I wanted to give back to the community by utilising my skills by capturing treasured memories for families that have suffered stillbirth, pregnancy loss or have critically ill children. I decided to volunteer as a Heartfelt Photographer. I love what I do for these families so much. Life got a little hectic so I had to give up my volunteer role for now.

After doing numerous sessions for my clients and Heartfelt clients I have a wealth of experience in these difficult situations such as in a birthing environment. I know how to respect privacy for my clients and act professionally at all times. I have had the honour to be awarded numerous times for my Birth & Newborn Photography at a State, National and International Level.

I am also a proud member of Birth Photographers Australia and International Birth Photographers.

Amber, a portrait photographer, specialising in children, family, baby and wedding photography. Her style is often described as whimsical, engaging, storytelling and emotional. With 22 years experience, it's really all he has ever known! 

Photographing people at any stage of their lives, Amber’s work is often described as whimsical and story-telling. Drawing inspiration from children’s books and childhood memories, aiming to capture and create artwork for your home. Looking for connections between people, she does give instruction initially, but after a moment, something real happens. 

Her journey as a photographer began when she was fourteen. She was handed a mechanical film camera, a Pentax K1000 and told to go outside and look for the light. Little did she understand, she had never really seen light or seen colour before. This was a whole new world. Since that day, in 1995, she doesn't think there has been a weak pass without a camera in her hands.

Owner of Lifeworks Photography since 1993, Julie, previously a Registered Nurse, has an Associate Diploma in Photography and is a mother of two highly photographed kids, Henry and Amelia.

Growing up with a Darkroom in her home, shooting film and processing her images from the age of 10 years seemed to be a sure step into a future career. However, after completing year 12 Julie trained as a Registered Nurse at Royal North Shore in Sydney in the final year of Hospital training before it was moved to Universities. A career of 8 years, though short-lived has given her a sound knowledge of the nuances of photographing pregnant women, newborns, and children of all ages. That, and being a mother herself helps her to understand what is possible, safe, and natural when photographing infants. Many of her Award-winning images have been of pregnant women and newborns over the years.

Julie traveled extensively in her early 20’s and whilst doing so realised her passion for photography and returned to Sydney to commence a 4-year Diploma at Sydney Tech in Ultimo. Primarily a Commercial photographers course, Julie was one of 22 who graduated out of 75 students, often with the highest scores for her portfolio and assignment work, photographing people, much to her tutor’s disgust. (they preferred shiny kettles and inanimate objects). Julie and one other graduate only have continued to work professionally full time in the Photographic Industry, since 1993.

Julie’s passion other than Portraiture photography is travel photography. She loves to experience new and diverse cultures with a camera in hand, taking her kids along for the adventure.

Julie has been a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography for over 27 years, earning her licentiate status in recognition of her years in the industry and as an AIPP member. She was made a Life Member of the AIPP in 2020. She has mentored photographers, judged state and national awards, and has been a guest speaker in the UK, Norway, and Australia.
