1. What life experience made you become a Photographer?

After working as a paediatric nurse at the Royal Children's Hospital for over 12 years I wanted to combine my love of babies with photography. It now allows me to have a lovely balance of working with sick and healthy babies. Life is so short that it's such an honour to be able to stop time and capture these babies when they are so little.

2. What makes your service unique?

Being a paediatric nurse, safety is my number one priority. It is scary to hand your most precious baby over to a stranger so it is my goal to ensure that parents and baby are relaxed and safe at all times. My beautiful studio allows parents to relax with everything they need for themselves and their baby. Food and coffee are on hand and some parents will even shut their eyes whilst we capture beautiful photographs of their baby.

3. How did you get started and build a client base?

Being a nurse I was already so comfortable with babies that this gave people confidence to let me learn the photography side of things with their babies. Once I had photographed my first baby for a friend, social media allowed people she knew to find me and it grew from there. Being a nurse meant people felt very safe to allow me to learn and now I have photographed hundreds at babies!

4. Describe your style.

I take photographs that allow us to remember exactly what your baby looked liked when they were born. Very simple and natural posing with not too many colours or props to distract from your gorgeous baby

5. Do you offer posed newborn sessions? Do you bring props along?

All sessions are posed and we supply all blankets, headbands and props for your sessions, all you need to bring is yourselves and anything special you would like your baby photographed with.

6. When is the best time to have a newborn session?

Babies are best photographed under 3 weeks old. This doesn't mean however that we can't still capture beautiful memories after this time, we just may not get all the poses you see on my website.

7. What should I wear to the shoot?

I like when parents wear neutral colours to match with the session. However, as these are your photographs it is completely up to you! I love when families wear bright colours if that is what matches their family style.

8. Do you have props and accessories or do I have to provide them?

I provide everything at the studio! Just bring anything extra that you would like your photograph photographed with such as a teddy or blanket.

9. What happens if kids don’t behave on the day?

I love taking photographs of older siblings with their new babies however sometimes they don't always want to cooperate. But don't stress, I have lots of tips and tricks to try and convince them to have at least one photographs with their new sibling.

10. Can I book a session if my newborn has already arrived? What if they are older than the recommended days?

Absolutely you can. Get in touch ASAP and we will see if we can fit you in to capture some beautiful memories for you.

11. How long before I get my photos?

The fabulous thing about our services is that you get to see your photographs straight after your session! Whilst you get baby dressed and feed them I will prepare your photographs ready to view on the big screen. From here you can choose how you would like your photographs displayed around your home and purchase beautiful artwork for your home.

12. What’s the best way to get in touch?

Fill out my contact form at www.alwaysbellephotography.com.au/contact

13. How far ahead do I need to book?

I do book up in advance so best you book early to reserve your due date.

14. Anything you’d like to share with us.

Leaving the house early on for a photoshoot can be really daunting and stressful....yes I felt the same way when it was me! But I want you to know that once you are at the studio with a coffee and some food, your baby will be in the safest hands and you can just relax. There is a reason I have nearly 100 five star google reviews and that is because people love the experience and have beautiful memories to keep forever.
